I have a 49 F2 that I want to put a 9 inch rear end in. Is there a rear end that will fit without the need to shorten axles etc? What about the shock mounts? Will I need to modify those as well?

I will be using a 351W/AOD setup in the truck, so I will also be getting a new driveshaft made.

Thank you for the help!!

Forget about the search engine here really sucks!!!
Hello and Welcome!

It takes some time to find your way around here - I know. So ask anytime. Like Marty, those of us who have been all through this - especially recently, usually have saved these threads and can refere you to them quickly.

I'm finding there is a lot of good information, and everyone who adds might just post that one little experience that they had that will save you lots of time and trouble!

And he's right about the search engine too - worthless.

Ask us if you need help!

Nice to have you here. BTW, mine is a 9 3/8 rear out of a 66-70 "Big" Ford Car - like a "500." It's geared at 2.80. Nice for freeway speeds. But the F1 shock mounts were too small. The guy doing my springs said the psotioning on them was useless as well (the front to back) so he's going to do make something more side to side - should be interesting!
