Glad for ya Rick. I had to have Brian ship me a new trans a month ago, but when I got it in I took the old one back to him (I live in Mid MO) and he 'tuned' my new one up even more to my liking.

Did it seem to you like.... "This is in the back woods"..... Brian had told me when we were out test driving my truck ('01) that he was from Witchita..... I asked him why in the world would he move to Northern Arkansas? he pointed over is shoulder and said "the Water"..... 'Bull Shoals' Lake was almost within rock throwing distance.... He does not have to worry about 'finding work'.... 'the work comes to him'... I want to thank everyone on this Forum for talking up BTS transmissions..... almost wish I had shelled mine a year ago....

All of the guys working with (you could tell that they worked WITH and not just forhim) Brian where top notch professional.

Did you ask him about maintenance? When I asked him what he would suggest, he told me that every 30,000 miles to drain the pan and drop it and replace the filter only only replace the 5-6 qts that I had drained from the pan.

Happy 'Pullin'

Funny you should say this Les. As I was driving up there, I wondered if there was a place flat enough to even build a shop. I couldn't believe how crocked most of the houses were up there. . Yes, you could tell that they work WITH each other and I noticed Brian asked his helper what he thought he should tune my trans to. I was very impressed with the whole experience.

After reading this, it shows there's people out there that still have a sense of pride in their work.

Man, if my tranny goes, it might be a haul but somehow I will have him do mine.

You will not be disappointed at all. I can't imagine a trans being build stronger then his by anyone out there.

Brian will also ship you a built trans, then you ship your trans back in the box the built trans came in.

Thanks Pat. I wanted to have my trans rebuilt, not another different trans. I am kind of old school, numbers match.

Nic, that sounds like a good deal you and Brian are doing with the crate.

Thats my neck of the woods that i grew up in and joined the military from. small town of Flippin to be exact. The lake is great and the people would give your their shirt off their back in a heartbeat.

Congrats Rick!! I'm saving up for mine as we speak.

Question:

I've heard of BTS as well as John Wood as being able to build some MEAN transmissions. I'm kinda lost as to what to do here... any suggestions? I still have a fairly fresh Jasper in my truck, but it's having issues with not wanting to slip into 4th... it's like the truck still thinks I'm standing on the pedal.

I think the only difference I have heard between the two, and this has been the deal maker, how close to you are to one or the other..

In other words, BOTH ARE GREAT TRANS SHOPS..

I know you are wanting to get a chip soon, so if you do, that Jasper will more then likely take a dump on you. Especially if you are having problems now. You live closer to BTS.
