Thats another reason I got this done. I was always worried about my trans with the power I'm pushing now, now I don't worry about that any more.
You guys have to see the process to understand what I am saying about his builds. I was very impressed watching them work and the outcome. I now understand why/how he can build the strongest trans in the industry and keep the price right. There is a lot more to BTS then is generally known.

I got home a little after midnight last night and sleep in a little because I had to unwind in my shop for a couple hours with my frig.
Brian, Patty and the guys were great to me while I was there. First thing Patty did was to bring me around and show me where everything was so I would feel at home for the day. They had me pull my truck into the shop. I thought they would have lifts but they put a big jack on my rear end and jacked the truck way up. 15 mins later the trans was headed to the rebuild room. I don't remember the guys name but he started taking the valve bodys off, then started taking everything out of the case. Man, I had no idea there was so much stuff in that tranny. He set all the parts on the table then left with the case. Brian came in and started taking parts and throwing them in the trash and stacking the bigger parts in the pile of other used parts. I can't say I saw Brian use a part from the originals. He has shelves of parts and started grabbing things that he had made and started getting them ready for the install. He showed me his new parts compared to the parts he took out of the trans and the parts looked better to me. (like I would know ). Brian didn't rebuild my tranny, he built me a new one. He put all the parts in once the case came back all cleaned and painted. He changed everything on the outside also. New trans pan, new plug harness, new sensor, new bypass line, new dipstick tube. He asked me if it would be ok to work through lunch to get me back on the road faster, I was happy with that. I was headed home at 2:30 that afternoon.

I could tell a huge difference as soon as I put the truck in gear. With Brian in the co-pilot seat , I backed on the road and put it in D, let off the brake and the truck started going up the incline without me pushing the pedal. We went for a drive and after a while I asked Brian how I should break the trans in. He said you have around 6 miles on it now so the air is out and you can drive it like you want to. I asked how many miles before I can go WOT? He said, you can do what ever you want to do with it, you can't hurt it. I started testing the tunes and found out I may need to have them tweaked for the shifting on 80e and 140. I tell you that thing is a beast. I would never have thought that it would be so different driving my truck. (in a good way). Getting on or off the gas is so different then before. It is so solid feeling then the original. I had a great time driving home the 600 miles last night. I really can't explain how it feels, but believe me, It's so much better.

I can tell you this, I would never have anyone but Brian build my tranny. If anyone is thinking about doing this, I recommend BTS to the max. His shop is huge and clean.

Mike, to answer your question on why I did this. I really don't think there was anything wrong with my trans, but I have the Diode with 130,000 miles on the truck. I didn't want to be on the side of the road one day and have to haul the truck to Lead Hill to get my tranny built. I thought I felt something a couple times, but it just may be me wanting a new trans.

Thanks everyone at BTS.

I did bring my camera, but I felt that Brian would not have liked me taking pics of his parts and process.
You have explained my experience with BTS to a tee! Reading this thread brings back great memories.....ENJOY your tranny and truck!

Thanks guys.
Another thing. Brian discarded the whole trans pump and pulled a brand new one out of the box, set it on the bench and started knocking out the seals and other stuff out of the new pump. He grabs a drill and start drilling holes. . I finally asked what he was doing and he said the stock parts are not as good as the parts he has made.

Now THAT's impressive... Taking a brand new pump and rebuilding it with better-than-OEM parts before even installing it!!

Impressed me too Pete. And why a brand new pan and all the rest of the new parts. It's not a factory pan either, looks better for draining the fluuid. I don't know, but I like it.

He will probably upgrade it

I was thinking that too. I'm sure he's learned even more things since I was there last.

I would think he has learned quite a bit about these trans sense he did yours. Were you there when he built yours?

The pumps aren't stock either. He has them machined at a company in PA I think he said. Bored .010 over I believe is what he told me last September if I remember correctly. You would probably crap if I told you how much the pump alone runs him
