Me and a friend just did a speaker/amp up grade on my f150 2010 and now I can hear a noise coming from drivers side speakers .If I had to guess I would say we ran power next to speaker wires and getting motor noise through that side..Any suggestions?
Unhook the RCA's and see if it's still there. if it is then its from amp on, if not then its before the amp.
Try a mute plug. This is made by cutting off the end of an old set or rca's and stripping the wires back. Tie the inner pin to the outer jacket. unhook all the rca in on the amps and check all the channels
When we did the upgrade we sliced into stock speaker wires.I would of liked to run wire all the way to speakers ,but to get wire to speakers we were going to have to drill holes into door/pillar..
I'm running stock radio, and no RCA's ..I did this to my last car with no issue's ..WTF not fun
I've got a thump when I turn amp on/off ,and a engine whine.. This is what i've done checked ground connections (good) I've wrapped aluminum foil around power wire and grounded it (old school fix ) nothing still have issue's.
I went out and bought a kicker amp and a converter (wire to rca) ..I have not installed it yet.
Everything done can be a good way to introduce noise into the system. Hi level input to an amp can cause an unequal ground between the deck and amp. A drain wire between the 2 can resolve that issue. I would try to ditch the stock deck for one with rca outs whenever possible. Even a base line cd player will give a better performance then 99% of stock decks.
Turn on/off is a timing issue between the deck and the amp. As the power cycles on /off the pop is created when the deck powers on / off before the amp. Some amps get around this with a delayed on / off. You can add in a remote delay unit to resolve this issue.
