I got a 94 explorer xlt. And when I removed the rear driver side panel and exposed the speaker. The wire colors are pink w/ green stripe and brown w/yellow stripe. I am confused. Also when place cont. tester, it registered a closed circuit. Can you assists?
well not sure about that probably easiest thing is to keep doing that and right it down or buy a haynes and make sure it has a wiring diagram in the back.
<CENTER>This code seems to be pretty common on the Internet, but I cannot vouch for it. Could your Brown/Yellow negative wire in fact be a faded pink wire with light blue stripe???

Also, I meant to mention that your XLT should have the premium audio system in it. If so, it has a main power amp separate from the audio head unit. (Mounted under the right rear quarter panel plastic interior trim). If this main amp is still in the car, even with the head unit out, there will be continuity between the positive and negative wires of each speaker set. The speaker wires come from the amp, not the head unit.
