glow plug on time

Does the oil temp sensor control how long the glow plugs are on based on what temp it is seeing and telling the pcm?

My glow plugs always stay on more than 30 seconds no matter what temp it is outside. I just changed my oil temp sensor because it was leaking oil. I also changed the pigtail for it. The wire insulation had rotted off from the oil. I've only started it once since and it was 85 degrees out. The glow plugs still stayed on for at least 30 seconds.
Is that normal? How long should they stay on for a given temperature? Is there a chart anywhere?

Yes, the oil temp does control how long they are on.

The baro pressure sensor is supposed to be under the dash somewhere by the steering column. Anyone know where exactly? I can't find it. Maybe 94 used the map for it like gassers do. That one has been messing with me a while.

I think it's Aliens controlling mine cause it doesn't matter if it's a buck ten in the shade and I just got back from a high speed run to the liquor store or it's minus 40 and my ol ladys high beams are on high my GP's are on for 2 minutes regardless. I've had it checked at the stealership and they said yup 2 minutes regardless.....

Also EOT and IAT are two different beasts. Today around 11:00 AM outside temp was about 40* but EOT indicated 32*. It takes a long time for outside air conditions to heat up that big hunk of metal under the hood.

Mine is located just to the left of the steering colum and to the right of the fuse box. Hanging down solo.

Here is a pic of one that looks like it.

So that's what it looks like. Thanks a lot! I know I've seen that in there before.
Oh, this mornings run to take my wife to work went so much better. The engine was a lot more responsive after I replaced the eot sensor and pigtail.
I still think something is going on though so I'll swap that sensor with my other truck now too. We are at 3500 feet here so it could be messing up.
Down at sea level it was really running good.
