Your transmission is gone, finished, kaput, dead. A simple modulator replacement may have saved your transmission at one time but your only option now is to replace the transmission. The symptoms and chain of events have indicated a totally burned up forward clutch and probably other damage inside.

If the modulator valve went bad you would still have forward and reverse gears. Just late shift points like you had the throttle to the floor.

-Sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear but your tranny is toast and you need to get started putting the replacement in.

well this was still wierd and according to your last message, evidently it wasn't the modulator valve because I had reverse ONLY, no forward gears, so now I really don't know what happened.

Adam, what Torque1st is saying is that when you first started to have trouble with the fluid getting low the problem was the vacuum modulator. The diaphragm inside it has a pinhole leak letting the fluid get to the vacuum side a little at a time. The missing fluid was getting burned by the engine so you didn't see any leaks. What happened next was the fluid got low and the forward clutches got cooked beyond the point of no return. (No oil, no pressure, slipping...poof!) Now when you put enough fluid back in it for the pump to make pressure, there's not enough clutch material left to pull it in forward gears but reverse still works 'cuz the reverse clutches didn't get fried. Hope this clarifies things.
Long story short: A small repair (modulator) that wasn't done turned into a much larger repair that can't be avoided. Sorry.
Greg

well that pretty much straightened things out for me, I really appreciate that, I just wished I had caught this in time, also another question with the modulator valve leaking would it have leaked from the valve area itself or where exactly, because like I had said before the fluid seemed to be coming from the top of the transmission.

The modulator would leak into the vacuum line. When you pulled the tranny did some fluid come out of the vacuum line hooked to the modulator? It should be dry.
The fluid leaking from higher on the tranny could be when the fluid got overheated it came out the vent or dipstick tube. Hard to tell unless you can spot where it starts to get wet.
