If you are after the stock head unit, i have one for sale. it is out of my 01 ranger xlt, and is the 6 disc changer and is in perfect condition. i don't know what year truck you have, but if you are interested, let me know.
yes i am looking for the stock head unit. If u have pics that would be good. But would be better is a part # off of it and i can check through ford and make sure it will fit. and what are u asking for it.
i don't have adigital camera, so i would have to take some with a regular 35mm and get them developed, scan etc. tell me what type of truck and year you have and i'll call my buddy at the dealership and find out if it fits! the guys in the service department will know. i'd like to get $200 for it.
just got off the phone with a company called ELECTROSOUND, they handel radio repair for the ford dealership. the guy said it would fit, if yours is the kind that slides out [4 small holes, one in each corner of the faceplate]. he said that ford uses several wireing harnesses, even for the same year, but a jumper plug is cheap. as for "shipping included" that depends on where you are and how much to ship.
Ok that sounds great.I live in castroville texas 78009. so just figure what ever price is good for u and then reply and well figure out how we will do payment and shipping. thanx
hey adam05ford, sorry i haven't gotten back to you, had to go out of town. you may not even need a jumper, but ask your local dealer who they send their stuff to. monday i'll go find out the shipping cost and get back to you.
adam05ford, just got back from the post office, $10.65 for priority mail. So, yes $200 shipped. Send me an email at jcm.1@insightbb.com and we'll make arangements for the sale, shipping etc.
My 2002 Ranger 4x4 has the 6 disc changer. With only 1800 (yes eighteen hundred) mile on it, it went back to the dealer today for it's second stereo transplant
The original had a problem with the balance control wandering. Set the balance, drive down the road, hit a bump . . . and the balance would go all the way to the right side. No problem, right?
So, I took it back to the dealer and they swapped the unit out complete. Picked it up, drove down the road with the stereo blasting . . . everything was great!!!!
Except for one thing . . . the #2 preset pushbutton was inoperative what the heck is up with that? Two new units and neither one of them worked correctly.
So, now it's back for a third unit. If this one doesn't work, I think it will be time to have a little talk with the service manager
I'm not sure what's going on or who makes these units for Ford, but I'm suspecting that they have a bit of a quality control problem
