Well, after replacing the wiper motor last spring with one from the auto parts store; after the winter I am now having the same problems as last time!!!!!
It started over the winter when I accidentally hit the wipers to clear like 2 inches of snow off the windshield and now the motor works but the blades only go up about 3/4 of the way and stop short. But even before that the wipers didn't seem to go up enough, so I did a test and took one of the wipers off the windshield and it went up fine.
Is there some heavy duty motor I can buy that has some strength to wipe all the way???
I remember having a similar problem when I had the '94. It turned out to be a loose bolt and also a bad bushing on the transmission. That is when I learned what all that linkage between the motor and the wiper arms is called.
Whatever it is there's play in the wipers, meaning i can move them up and down without the motor stopping me from moving them. I'll investigate the issue more tomorrow and have more info later....
There is a cycle cam adjuster on the motor. You need to set it up for the right timing cycle. Had one that would just start running in high winds, for no reason at all. found out the relay in the motor was touching the other side. which made contact and it would cycle.
Took it all apart today and the problem turned out to be the rubber bolt thing that is supposed to hold everything together was all dry rotted, loose and the motor was just jerking side to side causing the wipers to go up 3/4 of the way. I took it to the workbench, pulled out the box of misc. rubber washers and found a perfect patch and not they wipe all the way!!!
