Im just curious to see what everyone has for miles on there dentsides.
There is 2 of them in our family and mine is a 1978 f150 custom with a 300i6 and it has 78k on it, and my dad has a 1978 f150 cs custom with a 400 and it has 367k on it(on its third engine but whatever haha).
I've had my '73 F100 (360/C6) since 1985, it had 160,000 on it when I bought it. When I retired it in 1996 it had 435,000 miles on it. The first engine had 300,000 miles on it when I changed it.
I still have it, currently undergoing a frame off resto/mod. (Thread, The Long Journey Begins)
1978 F-250 Custom 4X4......402,088 on original I-6 before it got tore down for a restore. Then some nice person stole the engine, crate and all after it was rebuilt. Has been in family since new.
Pearl's got 98k and change, all put there by my dad. I can't remember if he told me how many miles were on it when he bought it, but I'm fairly certain it was in the single digits. I still have the bill of sale, listing his 1970 F100 as the trade in. I'm building the 3rd engine now. My dad pulled the original 400 whn it lost oil pressure and the freeze plugs started to leak. My parents were just married, and he didn't have the cash to rebuild it properly, so he threw in a junkyard 351M. I yanked that because after years of sitting, it was locked up. That, and I found a compression test in the glovebox from around '87 that showed No. 8 cylinder was dead.
0.........Buford isn't on the road yet! I even rebuilt the gauge cluster, and set the odometer at 0 again for a fresh start (had to teach myself how to do that). There's no tampering issue to sweat, as my truck has been registered "beyond mechanical limits" for years, so the odometer is for my own purposes now.
I'm hoping to put a few miles on him later this summer.....if all goes well.
This is my first time poting I just bought last fall a 1977 F150 4x4 Step Side 351m/C6. It had been sitting in a bran for roughly 18 years with about an inch of dust on it. It only has 47000 miles on it. I have not got to drive it yet I have to fix the floors they have a few hole but other than that the truck is great can't wait to get it on the road.
