This should not be your problem. Ford has come out and said this is what should be used now. There has been lots of talk on this in the last 2-3 months. However, I dont know if the two can be mixed together. So if it was topped off with mercron V and you had LV in there, I do not know what that would do.

Mercon SP is being replaced by Mercon LV. It's my understanding the two can be intermixed. Mercon V is a totally different animal and I'd get it out ASAP if that is indeed what is in your torqshift.

I did not catch that. Also I would find out why you were that low. Do you see any visible leaks?

I would recommend that you take it to a dealer, ASAP, equipt for a power flush and get everything out of it, replaced with SP or LV and then replace the external filter. Maybe you will be lucky who knows??

My next thought is running the tranny 3 to 4 quarts low, with the X3 extreme street tune is probably what caused your problem and not adding the Mercon V. That is 1/4th of the transmission fluid capacity.
Did adding the Mercon V help or eliminate the problem?
However, I would get it flushed and filled with LV and see if the problem goes away.
