I have a 2004 FX4 and quite a while ago the passenger side from window wouldn't work from the passenger side, only the driver side. But last night, simultaneously, the rear driver side window wouldn't go up from either the rear passenger or driver side AND the rear power sliding window wouldn't open. On top of this, the front dome light where the switch for the rear sliding window is wouldn't work either. I read something about a window regulator but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Also, how would I be able to tell if it was just the switch and not the regulator. When I press down (when the window is already down) i can hear it attempt to go down farther, but when I press up, nothing happens. And in the case of the rear sliding window, when I press the button to open it, the rear dome light dims as if power is being used but again, nothing happens. I appreciate any insight.
Had some what the same issue, my window would not work unless I pushed had on the swith and move it side to side. One day in the rain my window went down but not up. I pulled the switch out and checked on line you can buy one new around 75-125 but way to much for me. I just pulled the switch apart and found that the contacts were rusted up. Used a small file and contact cleaned and fine sand paper and put the thing together all ok.
As for your rear sliding window, I would check for obstruction or sticky channels. The fact that the dome light dims shows that the motor is trying to work, but it can't do it.
