22'' Wheels On 37's. Opinions Please
#16
I like the black rims... I want to black out my whole truck I dont like chrome. Maybe just a little accent of chrome like the studs on those wheels or something. But my question is how does the black finish hold up over time? I for one plan on keeping my SD for a long time so longevity is something I'll factor in as well.
As for rim size I'm in the 17-18" group though, not big on the huge rim look personally, and my truck will see some off road, but thats just me I wouldnt discourage you from either.

Yes I will have a 6'' lift. Thanks for your recommendation. I ask you this, with 6'' of sidewall instead of 7'' what are chances of wrecking the wheel, and how exactly does it happen? On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being driving down a dirt road, and 10 being full on rock crawling, I would say the level of my offroading is a 3-4.

Id personally go with the 20". I prefer the looks of the amount of sidewall, and personally like the polished aluminum look best. Black looks cheap IMO, and chrome is too much sometimes.

You can make rims like the ones in the first post with just spray paint?
In all honesty though I have thought about painting my rims black, the factory ones just look horrible and it might be a temporary improvment. But the issue is you have to have good looking rims to start with. Its not just the color its the style of the rim. There is more to it than just color.
I'd not mind chrome finish, if done well its pretty durable. As long as black chrome though and not that shiny stuff!

I thought about mud tires for my denali. After finding out how much 22inch mud tires or any offroad tire cost. I blew off the idea. But now that im gonna have the factory 20's I may go with the 37s when i replace them. On the chrome comment, i agree. Black wheels with a chrome lip, yes. All chrome, no.
