So i took off my f250 fender emblems today and plasti dipped them. Only issue is that using the heat gun to get the dang things off, I bubbled and cracked them a little bit. I sprayed the plasti dip over it anyways and it looks ok but the bubbles and cracks are visible.
I am thinking about looking for some in a junk yard or maybe even picking some up from partsguy ed. But of course if I'm looking into buying some, I figured I'd consider my options. Do the following emblems fit right up to the holes that I have on my E99? I like the way they look and if they fit I may just get a set of these and dip them.
Also, as some of you may know, I am blacking out my truck. I am looking at some new grills and I am having a hard time finding one that I would want. I know I want a black one. Billet preferably. Ive seen people with lights mounted behind a billet grill that shine through. I like that idea but dont know if it is possible on our trucks. Can you guys post pics of your grills so I can get some ideas?
Check these out and tell me what you think or if you have anything similar/better.
You take emblems off with a piece of fishing line, it takes about ten seconds, you can get new ones, can't remember the place i got mine, do a google search, i put the door badge that goes on the 07 truck on mine, that place has all emblems, all years, and they are OEM ford.
I like the GT grill with the lights. Its a look you don't see all the time. The only thing I don't like about it is the big center bar. for those of us that extreme tow alot, it might just have an adverse effect on cooling. regular folks would probably never even notice.
I have the outer chrome shell that can house a billet grill if you find a one piece billit interior. It wouldnt be too hard to peel off the chrome and paint the plastic.
Bryce. The emblem you posted requires the fender to be cut out. Seems like there was a how to on here a few months back. Those newer truck emblems are cut into the fender and I believe are functional vents. You could easily cut it out with a little layout time and being careful with a cutoff wheel. It would look sweet.

Those would be nice and that billet badge place has some cool ones for that. If some one knows where to find that how to please post it up.
So you are saying you have holes in the fenders where you removed the emblems? I thought I read somewhere that there weren't holes under the emblems on the fenders and doors? Maybe yours is different since it is early 99? This is good info to have because I was going to remove my emblems, but don't want to if there are holes.
