I am looking to upgrade my factory wheels to aftermarket. I am seriously looking at the KMC XD Hoss Black/Machined 20" rims with a 35x12.5x20 Nitto Trail Grappler tire. However, I have read a lot of bad things about XD wheels and was wondering if maybe I should steer clear. Have any of you dealt with KMC wheels? Warranty issues?
I dont know...I also heard some things about KMC wheels, im still checking this out. Right now im looking at these wheels.
MotoMetal 591 series
KMC XD796 series
Dick Cepek DC2 series

all the bad I've heard has been with the chrome and pitting. with machined and black finish, I think you'd be good to go. I love that combo, and had thought about getting the same thing, but dont' think it goes very good with the white/pueblo gold on my king ranch.
I'm going to go with something like this
i've kicked this idea around, but never could decide on a specific wheel to do this with. found this guys truck on psn, and it is exactly what I'm looking for. hope to look like this except I have the 5" chrome side steps.
badazz wheel that with the accent will look like a bitchin' factory option.
onuredneck what did u hear bad about the KMC. i was also looking at the XD Hoss in black.i actally preety much made my mind up but after seeing this post im concerned now
I had basically been reading a couple of forums (not necessarily ford related) that had been relating to chrome pitting and pin holes in the actual wheel. I had made up my mind as well, but the most troubling part of these posts were the statements people were making about the customer service they recieved when they wanted to get a new wheel from the "lifetime warranty" KMC offers. I just wanted to throw it out there and see if I had a legitimate concern, or if the bad reviews were a rare thing. From the sound of things, I think the rare side is more like it.
hope its just the chrome, im planning on going all black. being that they are powder coated i think they will holed up fine I HOPE.
im gonna get them with the toyo MT's. i just got to decide if im gonna go with a stock 16" rim with 285x75x16 tire or go up to 17" with a 285x70x17 tire. i dont wanna have a problem with the gearing with bigger tires and rims and right now i only have it stock height but im putting a 2 1/2" pro comp level kit with 350 blocks in the rear once it gets nicer out. dont want a rubbing issue with the new tires if i go with the 17's
I have the KMC XD series DIESEL BLACK wheels with 35x12.5-18 Nitto Mud Grapplers on my truck. Usually black rims arent my thing, but ill tell ya what .. the all black rims with the chrome ring around the outside and the chrome lugnuts REALLY make these things look awesome. I just took these pics like 5 minutes ago. Now granted they are very dirty right now because everythings thawing out and there is mud everywhere. When they are clean the black shines like black chrome. They look VERY good.
I to have been interested in any problems with the KMC wheels. Kawkx500 I love the look of those DIESEL BLACK wheels. I have looked at wheels until my eyes cross and have not found any I like as much. How long have you had them on the trk and where did you purchase them?

Whoa dude you have something up with your sway bar assembly. It should not look like that
Centerlines are still made in America. They are hard to find and pricey though. Some of the American Eagles are made in America too. On their web site they indicate the ones that are.
You noticed that huh .. lol. Yeah they are not hooked up. Every lifted truck that I have ever done I never hook the sway bars back up .. NEVER. I have never had a problem with them like that on any truck that I have ever owned. I prefer them to be off for off-roading purposes and as far as driving it on the road .. trucks that sit high like mine arent meant to be drove 90 mph around bends. Keeping your sway bars unhooked or removing them totally does absolutely nothing. Extended sway bar links are just a waste of money to me .. thats why I always buy my lifts piece by piece instead of kits. It keeps me from getting parts I dont need and as long as you know what you have to get for your specific truck .. you can get the lift cheaper .. sometimes by 3 or 4 hundred dollars. As far as inspection goes .. most places wont inspect them unless they are hooked up .. but not the place that I go ( friend of the family ) and he knows the way that I am and that I wont have him put a sticker on something that aint safe to drive.
