Maybe I'm torquing the nut too tight or my Harbor Freight torque wrench is way off, but this is the 2nd cup I've split.
After it happened the first time last November I called Moog and told the guy what happened. He pretty much said it was impossible because the plastic cup is very strong. I tightened it to 100 ft.lbs. like the directions said.
I checked the bushings again today and yep, it's cracked.
Thats strange. When i did mine i just tightened them as tight as i could. That was a couple months and a couple thousand miles ago and havent had a problem.
I'm not sure what part your talking about thats cracking?
I thought the heat sheild cap was only on the passenger side since its near the exhaust.
I replaced my raduis arm bushings with polyurethane ones from Energy Suspension about 8-9 years ago and about 100k or more miles ago. They still look nearly the same only a little dirty.
Thats interesting, i used the MOOG one's tightened them, then cam back a couple weeks later and re tightened them. They dont show any signs of problems. I'v seen alot of threads about these suckers. Yet no one has found a solution. I wonder what causes it.
