300 pistons

Is there any forged pistons made for the 300. how about the rest of the i6s. What are the general valve sizes for the heads. Looking to turbocharge.

Thanks

I am planning on using KB-355 Pistons, and 240 rods, to make a long rod 300-6TT. I have to get a 240 rod, and a couple of different pistons to check clearances and whatnot. Go to the KB site ( www.kb-silvolite.com ), and check for pistons with a 4.0" bore, and as close to 1.778" compression height as you can get. My general opinion is that it doesn't matter what brand the parts were intended for, if they are used in a Ford, that makes them Ford parts, right?

Not too much going on right now, just research. I have a 300-6 torn down in my father's garage, I need to get it overbored, luckily it was a virgin block to begin with, so it should only need .020" over. I am just porting and polishing the head, and replacing the valves and springs, dual coil springs, but stock valves. SBC valves have very little effect on a turbo'ed motor, and the long rods help it breath better. I am hoping to do a tech writeup on this engine when it is done, and another one on the truck I build for it.

what kind of compression ratio will you end up with?

What is the cc of the chambers?

I am using a stock 80 head, I think it's 74cc chambers, and with those pistons, if my math is right, it will be 8.0:1. Like I said, I have to get a couple of different ones, and see how they work together. I am also considering having the pistons ceramic coated on the heads, and teflon coated on the sides. Not entirely sure about that, though.
