The rod trick is what i always do. Only I use a long piece of welding rod. If you get it right. . . the motor won't turn on you when pressure is applied. Just be safe and remove the bar off the crank bolt. Take er easy!

I will certainly take it easy and very cautiosly as well. Don't want to be pulling a head. Now if I had some ARP or H11 headstuds that would be different.
