Morning guys! Damn.....I've actually got to work today
I've got to install a new waterpump and radiator in a D-6 cat. But all is not lost! My brother and sister-in-law will be here for the next 2 days. Now all I have to do is find some work to keep me away tomorrow....

I hear that Don, we have family that visit and I can't find enough things to keep me away long enough to avoid either saying something everyone else wants to say but won't, or just decking one of them!
Mike just called and said the last of his parts will be in today and wants me to go to his place tomorrow and start his new engine. Looks like I'll have to miss the inlaws! Gee, what a shame.......lol

Don, whats the difference between In Laws and Outlaws?
got the bike sold yesterday and now I am looking for another.
I have put 1000 miles on the the "ole Girl" now. I am not quite ready to tackle a long distance run yet on her but getting close. It is really great to wheel the "62" into a parking lot and get the looks from everyone.
I flushed the radiator Tuesday and change all the hoses as well as the thermostat. You should have seen the crap that I flushed out of the system. You would never guess it but the heater works better. go figure that would happen. I flushed her out both ways. First time it looked like a muddy river for a minute.
What is a good oil to put in the rearend for a limited slip differential?
When I change oil last tim in the engine, I put 30 SAE in it but I am thinking next time I am wanting to do some kind of a flush on it also and put in a synthecic oil.
What is you thoughs on a synthecic oil in a 223 inline? It has 52K on it now.

Morning Walt. Congrats on selling the bike! You need 80-90 wt oil in your diff and need to put a limited slip additive in with it (NAPA has it) I use Mobil 1 Syn oil in my engines. The best thing to do is a reg oil change (with your normal oil) and add 1 quart of Syn to the mix. Run it till the next oil change THEN use straight Syn oil after that. You'll need to keep an eye on your seals though. Syn oil has a habit of cleaning out all the "crud" thats in the engine, and can cause the seals to leak. Thats why I recomend starting out with just one quart mixed with your normal oil.
Have fun with that dozer Don. Sunny here, but the weather liers are saying that it will be changing at some point today. You can never tell whatb is going to happen with the weather in Central Oregon until it happens.
