I have my retro stereo installed in my Ranger. It consists of a 2000 model Phoenix Gold TI 475 Amp & a set of Boston Pro components also made in 2000. The amp works great & the speakers were refurbished by Boston so they are like new. I have a 2003 model Clarion 8 inch sub.I mounted the amp in the drivers side jump seat location. I had to remove the backrest to have space.I used 2/16 ft Phoenix Gold RCA cables. They are 2000 models & real good quality. I ran them on the passenger side & my power on the drivers side. The install works great. No noise or turn on pop. I put 3 rolls of dynamat in the doors with 2 cans of 3M sound deadening sprayed on each door in the areas I couldn't reach with dynamat. I've put 3 coats of deadening on the bottom of the floor board. The little truck is much quieter & has very little road noise now. I need about 40 sq ft of second skin spectrum to spray the floors ,rear of the cab & roof to finish my deadening. I had all the stereo equipment from past installs. It sounds as good as most new stuff. The amp is clean & is a quality piece. I have 2 of them. I'll be installing it in my F250 soon with my MB Quart Reference 3 way components. I have the 4 inch speakers & crossovers for the Boston set. I have to build speaker pods to mount them but its a future mod I will do soon. My stereo gear may not be new but it rocks. My sound stage is a little low but I'll work on that when I add the 4 inch mids. I may move my tweeters up higher & see if that helps.
