I have a question.... Can I convert my automatic locking hubs to an aftermarket manual locking hubs if my truck has the push button 4 wheel drive? If so which one do you recommend.
Yes, I added the WARN premium hubs. You have to manually lock the hubs in on the wheels and the dash control is still needed to lock the front diff. In the winter months I have the hubs locked in which then allows me to have shift on the fly by activating the ESOF in the truck.
thanks mike. I'm also having a hard time taking one of the stock locking hubs out any suggestions on how to get it out? I got the drivers side out easy after i took out the snap ring but the passenger side won't slide out.
I think if you run a forum search you may get some help. There may be someone who did some pictures and instructions. For me the place I bought the hubs from only charged $50 to do both sides so I had them do the install.
I pulled both my hubs this AM. The passenger's side hub was tight, but I just wiggled it until it came free. I'd use a rubber mallet or a block of wood and a hammer and tap alternate sides until it comes loose. Frankly, a tight fit may mean that your o-ring is actually make a seal, which is a good thing.
