Carbon Fiber Vinyl's marketing practices are kind of a PITA for us. From what I understand, they sponsor a person to use the product on their car if they post videos all over the Internet, which is just another form of spam. This results in FTE getting hit by several of these every week which we have to delete, and then ban the user as they have no interest in FTE other than as a place to post their video. I have to say, when you post up as a new user and your second post contains a link to one of these videos, it makes you look suspiciously like yet another one of these spammers. I deleted the link.
If anyone wants to know more about the product, go to youtube and do a search on it there.
It's a shame they market it in such a way, it looks like an interesting product.
It's up the website of course, but our policies here prohibit spamming the forums. That's what it amounts to when dozens of you guys come on here with your Carbon Fiber Vinyl videos. If we didn't delete them, the forums would be overflowing with them and we'd have a lot of unhappy users, not to mention unhappy sponsors who actually pay for the privilege of advertising here.
If you had bothered to read the guidelines of this site, which you were supposed to do when you registered here and signified that you did so by checking the appropriate box which then let you continue with the registration process, you'd have seen that our policies specifically prohibit this type of activity. Here, I'll post the relevant section for you:
3. No Advertising . (Note: This applies to non-sponsors.) Posting commercial solicitations, advertisements, multi-level marketing, promoting competitive commercial or non-commercial web sites, phone numbers, web site addresses, photos, testimonials or other content promoting a business in which you are involved is strictly forbidden and will result in immediate and possibly permanent revocation of your posting privileges. This includes promotion of companies in return for discounts, favors, free products, promotional links in profiles and signatures, and screen names intended to promote commercial entities.
So now do you understand the problem? Just because your company thinks it's okay doesn't mean the websites you are spamming (excuse me, I meant promoting on) think that it's okay.
It might be best to try this in a ricer forum, I just can't see too many people here going for a fake stick-on carbon fiber that is everything opposite of real carbon fiber- It adds weight, does not add strength, and is generally useless except for looks.
Maybe try a Dodge forum, I've heard they like rub-on tattoos.
For users confused by the above posts, this was started by a spammer pushing a fake carbon fiber product. His posts have been removed and the user banned, but the rest of this exchange has been left to alert some of you to please report as spam whenever you come across a new post containing a video or link to a website selling the product. These folks don't care about Ford trucks or FTE, they only want to get their videos out in order to push the product. Here's a deleted quote from the guy that I feel is classic:
