I am in the process of rebuilding my 351M. So far, the mods I am adding to it are as follows
Edelbrock Performer Intake
Edelbrock 650CFM Off-Road Thunder Carburetor
Edelbrock Performer Cam and Lifters
Hedman Headers
Edelbrock Timing Chain and Sprocket
I am rebuilding this engine to go into a truck for my dad. He said he wanted to eliminate as much emissions stuff as possible, as well as most of the vacuum hoses and such. About the only vacuum line he wants on the truck is the hose going from the vacuum advance to the carb. Is that the only vacuum line we need to hook up?
We also noticed some kind of vacuum sensor on the water pump and the thermostat housing that has a vacuum on it as well. We don't know what that is for. Would it be OK to place a plug in those and not worry about vacuum there, if that is what it is for?
Any suggestions would be helpful. We are also considering going with a Mallory or MSD Distributor.
if he wants to get rid of the emissions stuff he should get rid of the heads too than they have egr passages cast into them. thats like 1/4the the egr system
