Power brake conversion question-what gives??

I am planning to convert from standard to power brakes on wife's '66 F100.

Old standard master cylinder had a rubber boot on m/c and when bolted up to dash, m/c unit sealed up hole from engine compartment quite nicely.

New booster unit has a boot also, but it is too short to properly seal the hole in the dash left by old m/c unit.

A search of the parts manual shows up nothing in the way of what part may be missing...

What have others done here??

The power booster i pulled from a 78 truck came with a flat plate with rubber seal on one side of it that went on before the bracket, maybe that is what your missing?

power brake booster push rod seal

I am in the exact same boat as you. My rubber boot is to short. All I can find is a seal for a 65 ford fairlane (part# C0AA-2A021-A). Looks like what we need but I don't know if it will fit. They run $10. Does anyone else know where to get this?

COAA2A021A .. Guard-Brake Master Cylinder Push Rod / Obsolete / 2 3/8" long...use w/Bendix & Midland Ross Power Brake boosters.

Fits: 1960/61 Galaxie / 1960/64 Thunderbird / 1964/66 Galaxie/LTD w/drum brakes / 1966/71 Fairlane/Torino/Falcon/Comet.

How long does the guard have to be? There's another that's 3.82" long (C7TZ2A021A), but no one has any.

The missing part is a plastic sleeve...as Bill noted above...its notched to go inside of the firewall. Its around 1 1/2-2" diameter..its a hard find on the early trucks....I dunno what the later trucks used for this pourpose.

What happens when you don't buy your donor truck to get your parts off of.

I would sure appreciate it if someone could post a picture of this part, since I am not sure what it should look like.
