after rain, I still get code 358 which says coil. and truck is missing. Changed plug and coil again. Now I think I may not have installed the insert deep enough so my boot won't go all the way down. Does anyone have the measurement from top of valve cover to top of spark plug.
Because I'm thinking if the plug is not deep enough, I may cut 1/8" off the boot and try that to get it to seal that way. We've had a lot of rain and the code doesn't come right on, takes a little while.
Dave, i though 358 code was a missfire on the power TOO the coil, not the coil output. NOrmally you will get a 308 ot 306, etc if the OUTPUT of the coil is bad... Not sure, but i vote aginst the helicoil being a problem.
from more reading it appears the 358 can be a coil problem on #8 cylinder. Normally you get a 308 code... you could switch #8 with the front one #5 and see if you get a different code??????
