Question cam change/speed density

Hi gentlemen just me again. My question now is I have ordered a Crane Power Max Hyd-Roller 444212 specs out at .050 208 and 216 with .530 and .530 with 112 L.S. Will that grind be compatiable with my stock speed density ecm? Not really too worried about idle quality , more concern with part throttle and full throttle operation and intake manifold vac pressure.

Thanks

with the duration and lobe sep you listed, i don't think you'll have any problem with idle quality or vacuum at all. You may notice a throaty idle compared to old cam but that's about it. The only thing i would be weary of is that .530" lift. That sounds a bit much for a stock engine as thne pistons may not have enough valve releif cut into them. If it were my engine, i would replace the 1.6 rockers with some aftermarket 1.5:1 ones. Maybe even make them roller rockers. According to my trusty texas ins. calc. your 530 inch lift will change to .496 with 1.5 rockers. This would not have that much of an effect on the cam, but will ensure the safety of your valves and pistons.

I think FastF150's on to something here. Generally, a .5" lift or less is okay, but if you have any more, and you should check for piston-to-valve clearance. One more thing that 1.5 rockers will do for you, is take away about 2 degrees duration @ .050", so you'll pick up some low end torque and idle quality. I say approximately 2 degrees duration, but there's really no way to know how much it will take away without having a blueprint of the cam profile, but you could check it with a dial guage if you were really crafty, but that's excessive, it's normally about 2 degrees. The cam should work really well, that tight LSA will give you the acceleration you're looking for. TK

cam change/speed density

Hey everybody, I have just bought an 89 F-150 with a spun maing bearing, I am going to repbuilit .30" over, and was wondering if I could run some slightily ported E7TE's, a Lunati Truck Avenger Cam with .210 @.50" intake and exhaust durantion with a .469 intake and exhaust lift. 1l6 roller rockers with long tube headers, and flowmaster exhaust.

I was wondering if I could still run speed density with this setup.
As far as my truck it is a four wheel drive, it already had 3.55 geard and detroit lockers, I gave $500 cause of the motor, did I get a good deal.

Last I am also new to this board and would like to commend you guys for the excelent andvise.

Lightbulb cam change/speed density

Thank you very much for the advice, and I will defintely check the pistion valve clearance and coil bind. How much more do you suppose I could pick if I would go with the DIABLO tuning? The 1.5 roller rockers due sound like a awesome idea.

Thanks

p.s the Edlebrock Performer intake for the fuel injected 89-95 trucks is it really worth the 500 dollar price tag; or should I just check into a Explorer intake or keep my stock intake?
