chasing a p0016
ive got an 06 f150 that has a p0305 and a p0016 stored code in it. someone has already done a "tune-up" to it to try to get rid of the 305 code. for whatever reason they didnt replace the COP and it still throws the code. i plan on throwing a COP on number 5 tommorrow and trying it out. however, im not familiar with the p0016 code...what is it? is it sometihng common that anyone here has encountered? i appreciate any help......

dug a little deeper into this today. i also had a p0303 misfire code. the p0016 code is for a ckp/cmp correlation bank 1 sensor a. basically im guessing its telling me it is out of time somehow at the camshaft. i checked the vct solenoids at each valve cover and they both seem to be working. however, the drivers side bank seems to be retarded in time more so than the passenger side. when i momentarily ground the vct solenoid in the ds the timing will come to match the pass side. i can hear the solenoid clicking so it is functional, but why is it not advancing the timing correctly? im new to these motors so i know i have a lot to learn and am probably missing something.....any suggestions or direction here? is this common?
