Geez,to openly attack someone with the word ignorant only shows ignorance on your part. This is all about opinion of vehicles, not blasting someone else. You should be kicked out.You load your POS Toyota and I'll load my Ford. John
It actually look spretty nice in other colors, I think with an aftermarket grill insert to hide the fact it's a Nissan it won't be a bad truck at all lol.
Unfortunately Chevy does have good designers if you look at some of their preliminary drawings, appearantly it's just the people who vote on what goes to production that screw everything up......
Here is the deal with fords vs Imports. I have owned toyotas
all my life, most recently a Land Cruiser, and my wifes Lexus GS300. I was just in the market for a truck to support me and me sons motocross habit. I had to have a real truck. I started looking
as always at the Tundra. But after all my research the F150
provided the most bang for my buck, was the most reliable according to JD powers, and the best looking. Add 0%
finacing, $500 over invoice and a 5.4l V8 it was a slam dunk.
The Nissan guys are going to get premium price for this for awhile
so it wont come close to as good as a deal as you will get from
your local Ford guy, for awhile anyway and it does look ugly.
Guys, I just recently, friday< went to the auto show in Cleve. Ohio. It was dealer night so there wasn't to big a crowd. Anyway after I checked out all of the new domestics, Ford had the most concepts by far, I checked out the Nissan Titan. They had it all shined up real nice. The display that it was on had steps so that you could go up and look at it. So I did. The ONLY thing that impressed me was how the rear doors, (extended cab) opened up. They completely get out of the way. They have this double hinged set up so that the door folds right up along side of the bed. Something that I think the big 3 should consider. I am not sure ho sturdy or sound this design is, but it looked like the most functional rear door on any extended cab truck that I have seen. Now with that said, let me get to the good part. As I was walking around the rest of the truck, I noticed a access door of some sort behind the drivers rear wheel, that had a plastic handle on it. Some guys were saying to open it as we were all curious to what it was. when I did try to open it, the darn thing went flying about 5 feet away from the truck. Now I did not yank on this thing, all I did was pull it with my index finger. When I went to put it back on, it had 2 sided tape holing the darn thing on, and the lock underneath it was loose. When I opened the passenger door, you could feel the hinge drop, not good I thought. Also there was another guy who was looking at the grille emblem and the whole grille moved about 1" when he touched it. Now I know that this might have been a show truck, but if Nissan is serious about big trucks, and displaying them where people can get at 'em and in and out of 'em, they better make it last. One guy said that he wondered how they could bring such a pile of dog c@#p to an auto show. Me, I thought there is no way that I would ever buy one.
As far as foriegns making cars here and the big 3 have some foriegn parts. all I got to say about that is look at where the money goes.
I emailed a close friend of mine that works at Nissan's Decherd, TN plant about the new truck. I figured maybe he had some inside info to share.
First off he let me know it was being built in Canton, MS. Something I knew already, but I just wanted to see what he'd say.
I asked him about styling and the power of the truck. He said it was impressive... I said not everything looked that way to me. I told him they needed to try their hand at the 3/4 and 1 ton market.
Then he started sounding like a car salesman, giving me the list of options and how he could save me money. He can give me an employee discount, as he has with a mutual friend's Altima. I can't recall how much he saved, but it was decent over retail. Something like 5% under dealer cost.
When I pressed him for more detailed info, he clammed up and I haven't heard a word from him since. I've known him for over ten years, served in the Navy with him. I found it wierd that he wouldn't toot his own horn. Maybe I'm reading something into it. Sounds like he's been brainwashed.
I don't really like the styling, but if it works.... I do like some of the options. If I only had a friend like that at Ford... I could be in a new vehicle every other year.
