The front passenger window on my 97 Explorer stopped working in the down position. Some history, the switch stopped working several years ago but the driver could operate the window, so no big deal.
Since all the other windows work, I assume the relay is good and the fuses are ok. I hear nothing when I activate the switch. Should I start with the motor?
Not sure if this is related, but the rear wiper motor stopped working a few months ago as well.
You need to pull the door panel and using a multimeter have someone operate the dr. door switch, if there is power to the motor you need a new motor. Also, many explorers have problems with the wires in the rubber boot between the door and body breaking. If you check there you may find the original problem.
Mel: It was the motor, found some helpful hints on some other threads and got it swapped out. I guess it is time to tackle the rear windshild wiper. Thanks for the tip.

Is it now working with the rt. door switch? Or still only the dr. door switch?
Now I have another problem; I have power all the way to the motor thru the drivers side switch but the new motor is still not working. I even went back to the shop and they replaced it but still no go.

Check your ground or run a seperate ground from the battery. The ground is one of the wires that often break .
