fuel filter replacement
hey guys i bought a new fuel filter for my truck, its a 94 f 150 with a 5.0. well i have changed many filters and i have never seen a set up like this it always has the clips that hold the hoses on to the filter. my truck does not it like there just pressed on there. can anyone help me out and tell me how to get it off?

to get the fuel filter off on these trucks you need special tools to disconnect the fuel lines go to your parts store and ask them where the fuel line disconnect tools are and they will hook you up and the clips are just there as a double safeguard in case the quick disconnect coupling on the fuel lines fail. all you have to do is either yank it off with pliers or pry it off with a screwdriver

I also would recomend spraying something like WD40 on the ends of the old filter before trying the tool, this will help loosen up the "fingers" in the fittings....I've got a '94 as well, and they didn't put the filter in a good location-I know the '87-'91s are further up on the frame and are easier to get to/work on.
