To tell the truth I'd like to clean mine with a hand gernade. But, what he said sounds plausable. I thought that the thing eventually would fill with ashes and then need replacement. If it's cleanable looks to me like some young engineer would figure out a way to repair it and make a lot of money. I've not heard of it either but it seems possible.

I personally could not stand the DPF Regen cycle. It was driving me crazy. I would be pulling a 10,000lbs load getting good mpg, then out of nowhere the Regen! It would literally drop my MPG avg by 2mpg's in 20 mins. Not to mention the truck drove differently. Not to mention it would let out a pretty smelly exhaust that people following me could smell hahah. I am very curious how dirty the regen cycle is? Needless to say, I no longer have a DPF.
