CCSB 250 XL how to tell when truck goes into regen cycle

I have had my truck for 3 weeks and 2600mi now and can't tell when it goes into a regen cycle. It is an XL trim FX4 with the small none touch screen with a back up camera. Is there a way to tell when it starts a cycle I have not noticed anything on the dash to signal it.

Does your dash show your instant fuel economy? if so when it drops to almost nothing, that means your in a regen!

Ok I thought there would be a better way of telling when the truck went into a regen cycle.

At highway speed of 75 mph, on more or less level ground, my instant mpg is around 10-11 mpg during regen. I'll watch the DPF Filter % drop to zero in 5% increments, and as soon as it does, mileage jumps back to 18-20 mpg. Its very obvious. With that said, without looking at either of those screens, you'd never know it was happening.

My DPF % takes about 20 minutes (at 75mph) to go from 95-99% to 0%.

When you let off the pedal to coast at highway speed, you'll feel it slow quicker than normal and see your boost gauge show some boost. That is how I can tell with my truck. It happens every 425 miles or so.

close to 6000 miles on our 2017 and haven't seen the "cleaning exhaust" message yet. I'll have to find the DPF % display and watch

I've never seen a "Cleaning Exhaust" message either. Does that exist?

The DPF% is enabled with Forscan or (per other forum contributors) a trip to your dealer, IF... 1) they know what they're doing, or 2) are willing to do so. That may cost you so money...

I'm towing heavy, and during a couple of long hauling 1000 mile days, I've noticed the regen or extreme mileage drop ~2 times on each of these 1K mile /16hr straight hauling days.

So I'm thinking the 425+ish to be about correct.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess I'll just have to pay attention to the instant mileage
