Let me also expand on this issue. Has ford done any re-thinking about the Continental tires? Most of us get rid of those right away, especially in a 4x4, they were the wrong tire to begin with.
True. I got rid of them with less than 15,000 miles on them. I would have gladly paid extra for a real set of tires as an upgrade. It would have saved me money in the long run.

I think that Ford specs thec Continental tires as a base options to improve fuel economy and save costs, and keep the tire noise at a minimum.
I have the "all-terrain" tire options which on both my 2006 and 2010 F250's are the BF Goodrich rugged trail tire it is an acceptable improvement on the continental tire yet is a far cry from BFG all terrain or mud terrain tires.
I plan on driving on the beach on Assateague Island national seashore ORV area and knew from prior experience that the Continental stock tire option would not be appropriate.
funny as a side not my 2008 F150 came with General Grabber TR's as the "all terrain" option They were OK on the beach but, were almost a pure street tire.
Welcome to fte. Can I install the brace to help with steering vibration on my 2008 250? It is great to be able to talk to a ford engineer I would like to give some feedback. Are the new trucks going to be smaller and lighter? I buy the fords because the frame and body are so much bigger and stronger than the chevys or dodges. Fuel economy is not my concern just the ability of the truck to perform heavy duty work. I would hope that ford won't go the way of chevy and dodge and downsize the trucks, that is what makes ford stand out from the rest. Thanks for the opportunity to talk to you directly.
Hello peter and welcome to FTE. Thank you for coming on and answering our questions.
Have any improvements or changes been made to the front suspension and steering components for MY2011 (especially in the 4x4 trucks) or is everything basically a carryover from the previous model years?
1) Can you explain why the published specs for the new 6.7 engine in the USA are 390 horsepower and 703 ft. lbs. torque @ 2800RPM
and the Mexico vehicles are listed as 300HP and 660 ft. lbs. torque@2800RPM
2) What can happen to a USA spec 6.7 if you drive it to Mexico where they still only offer High Sulphur fuel?
I have a 2011 F-350 with the hitch prep package on order and I can't seem to find which or who's hitch will fit. Can you help me by listing what Ford recommends?
