Alrite i guess i get the first question just something I've been wondering- How come there can't be a switch on the dash or some other way to adjust the tune from inside the truck to go from good mileage to high power? Like the Banks 6-gun tuner ****, thanks again
Second, I have some questions about interchangability.
Is the box the same? Our the dimensions and interior ribbing the same? I ask because I have a few $$ worth of tool boxes and a headache rack, not to mention some custom holders for survey gear.
Do the front tow hooks mount the same, and if so are they the same distance apart?
The main reason is our trucks need to meet the EPA and CARBS emissions cycle....we can not have any defeat devices on the truck. So our job is to develop a calibration that meet the emissions requirements and tries to refine the truck as best we can for all the other attributes like performance, fuel economy, and interior sound quality.
Peter, what are your thoughts regarding the 2011 Superduty's tow rating coming real close to many states non-CDL weight limit of 26,600#'s?
With the 3/4 and 1 ton truck wars that are playing out now, will Ford be lobbying states to raise the non-CDL limits, or is ford seeing additional costs in the long haul for truck owners as the capability of these trucks overtake the limits and then require a CDL and other requirements of CDL licensed drivers?
I realize that you may not know the answer, but your thoughts are appreciated...
Hello Peter My question to you is ,
When are the 2011 super duty's going to be released to the dealers for consumer purchse? I am waiting on delivery of mine wich was built 3/6 and scheduled to be delivered the week of 3/22 but has been "put to storage" on the dealer delivery sheet they recieved from ford. I called Ford customer service with my vin number and all the could tell me was it was in Kentucky waiting to be assigned. what does all this mean?
Are this trucks waiting for a specific release date? What will the incentive program be upon release of these trucks?
Thank you

I am not Peter, but I can answer your question.
"Put to storage" means that your vehicle will be in storage until customer units start to be delivered to dealers. A number of people need to "sign off" (probably Peter is one of them) that the vehicles are "ok to ship" - which is only done after all the vehicles meet all of the engineering/quality requirements outlined. As such a thing is dependent upon all of the vehicles meeting those requirements, there are target dates, but there is no "official date".
I couldn't imagine an incentive program with a new truck (but I could be wrong).
Thanks for the explaination on "put to storage." I would have to think that all the testing , engineering ,quailty checks would be taken care of by now seeing they are sapose to be released in spring of 2010. Are there problems with these checks holding them up from meeting the target dates? If Peter could give us an update on what is going on and when he thinks a reasonable time frame to expect the " ok to ship" date will be that would be great seeing I do not have a vehicle till it arrives , that would be great.
I have recieved a incentive or rebate on every new truck I have orded since 1996 ,2000,2004,2008, of @ least $1000 dollars so that is why I would expect something to be avaiable on the 2011 model also. You would think now more than ever rebates would be givin seeing the state of the economy and auto sales in the USA.
Thanks
My question is: Why did the grill and hood assembly change for MY 2011? I thought that the lift off grill really helped access to the radiator and cooler assemblies. My 2008 F150 and my brand new 2010 F250 really allow for easy cleaning.
