Battery Light Start Blinking
Hi, My 1998 Ford Expi, Battery Light start Blinking yesterday, If this a alternator issue or i have to check other components of the charging system if anyone can direct me to the right way, going to be apreciate.TX.

I believe your Alternator is going out.

First check and clean the battery posts and the water level in the battery. If youu have a multi-meter you can check the output of the alternator and if it's not reading 12.7 to 13.5 volts DC you have an alernator problem.

TX for the reply guys, i just get a new battery and the vehicle pass in excellent condition the following test's charging test past, start test pass, battery volt test pass, this problem its getting me crazy only a few times during the ride the battery light came on but blinking not steady, i going to verify the alternator plug to find out if it loose or dirty any sugestions going to be apreciate,TX.

Had the same problem on my 99 F250 when it had close to 100K on it. Thought it was the 8 year old batteries but it wasn't. Ended up being the Alternator as I suspected.

Pull your alternator off and take it into your local parts store where they can run a test on it for you. Most parts stores will do this for free.

I agree, but the test they run is not always a 100%, however some auto part stores will test the whole system if you can drive the car there, its a much better test with the varied loads the can simulate.
