95 f350 5sp cc 229000 miles,
Had this truck about a year,it has a chip of some kind, probably been in it for quite a while,it has a 3 position switch that sits on the dash must be tied in under the dash.I can change position on the switch ,doesnt seem to make any differents,i think it is an old type bully dog chip
Has sticker on window that says spyke and picture of a bulldog. What will i have to do to go back to stock.
Thanks JIM
You should be able to observe the cable from the 3 pos switch going into the end of the computer which is located right behind the E-brake and slightly protrudes from the fire wall. If the cable is not hooked up to the computer then the chip has been removed and you are more than likely running stock.
Thanks KAWA
Guess i had better find out where the wires go first, but if i do have a chip, but dont have the original, where would be the best place to get one, these questions might not sound to smart but i dont know a thing about these things.
Jim
just remove the aftermarket chip and put some tape over the hole so nothing can get in the PCM. the stock chip is the PCM. If the chip is in the PCM and it doesn't fell like it changes when you trun the setting then you could have a bad selecter cable or bad connection
Ok guys, tried to trace the wires out ,looks like they go behind the e brake ,that is as far as i could get.Getting to old for all this, think i will just let things stay like it is,but thanks to all,i really like this site.
Again thanks
Jim
It is real easy. Remove the kick panel then remove the 3 nuts that hold the e-brake on there. Lay it down out of the way and reachup in there and pull that chip out. Be sure the ignition is off though.

Ok Guys, igot the e brake out of the way the wire goes inside the box ,is that the chip that sticks out of the box a little ways.Guess i just pull that out Do i need to disconnect the batteries, dont want to mess this thing up.After i take the chip out, i dont have to put anything in its place,
Just cautious.
JIM
Yes that is your chip sticking out of the pcm, but i dont think you just pull it out. I think you need to disconnect the cable running from the chip to the switch, then you need to pull the pcm out from behind the inner fender. Somebody im sure will correct me if im wrong but i think thats how it goes. I dont have a chip yet though so its possible that im wrong.
