You should be able to observe the cable from the 3 pos switch going into the end of the computer which is located right behind the E-brake and slightly protrudes from the fire wall. If the cable is not hooked up to the computer then the chip has been removed and you are more than likely running stock.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks Kawa
Is there anyway that the wires can be hooked up under the dash and still have a chip.

Yes! You can still have a single position chip that is inserted into the computer but that 3 pos cable won't be connected to it.

Does this help?

Guess i had better find out where the wires go first, but if i do have a chip, but dont have the original, where would be the best place to get one, these questions might not sound to smart but i dont know a thing about these things.

just remove the aftermarket chip and put some tape over the hole so nothing can get in the PCM. the stock chip is the PCM. If the chip is in the PCM and it doesn't fell like it changes when you trun the setting then you could have a bad selecter cable or bad connection

if you pull the kick plate off by the e-brake you should beable to see the back side of the PCM and follow the wire and see if it has a chip.

It is real easy. Remove the kick panel then remove the 3 nuts that hold the e-brake on there. Lay it down out of the way and reachup in there and pull that chip out. Be sure the ignition is off though.

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. TOSS YOUR KEYS ON THE WORKBENCH WHILE YOU GO AFTER THE PCM.

Yes that is your chip sticking out of the pcm, but i dont think you just pull it out. I think you need to disconnect the cable running from the chip to the switch, then you need to pull the pcm out from behind the inner fender. Somebody im sure will correct me if im wrong but i think thats how it goes. I dont have a chip yet though so its possible that im wrong.
