Help with engine codes

Help with engine codes

Hooked up my AF scan gauge today adn played around with it. Its gonna take a while to figure it out but did figure out how to pull codes
Can contribution and buzz test and pulled 4 codes

P0266
P0269
P0272
P1292
I looked them up and it says the 1st 3 are contribution/balance failure for cylinders 2,3,and4. The other is High Side No. 2 (Left) Short to GND or B+

Whats this mean? The motor only has 4k miles on complete rebuild, and no chip at moment

is it running rough?

the last code is an injector electrical problem, could be a bad injector, uvc harness, wireing harness, or idm.

that will also cause it to fail the contribution test on that cylinder.

can you run a buzz test with your gauge?

3 and 4 could have weak injectors or weak cylinders....

I would fix the issue with #2 and go from there.

runs little rough around 1500 with no load on motor but fine when driving. I did run buzz test and thats when the last code showed up.

Havent looked at harnesses yet. Would a lightly bent push rod give the contribution #s? I broke on about a month ago for no apparent reason they were all new at that point.

a bent push tube could cause a failed contribution test.

could you hear all the injectors buzzing the same?

I had a thread on this worry already Miller.

Basically, dont count the CCT unless you know something is wrong.

You have to have the engine really good and hot. And since I have new injectors, I shouldn't have thrown any codes, but I threw 3 codes.

All out of balance failures.

Its just measuring the RPM change when it shuts off the injector, so if the truck is not running at 100% it will throw codes.

So, dont trust the CCT to much.

they all buzzed the same. motor was up to temp but wasn't real hot. the thing that has be concerned is teh running rough with no load

Yea, you gotta have it hot. and the oil temp has to be over 190.

Played with the VC harnesses and checked the truck out again today. Ran buzz and got a P1111= Pass. Must have been loose wires. Gonna replace them when get time

Went to to run Contribution test and it wouldn't just gave a P0196. All other codes went away. Oil was only up to about 140* would this prevent it from running test?

30 a harness and there are 4 harnesses.

engine wasnt' warm enough for CCT.
