TS Performance 6 Position Chip has anyone used this chip before and if so did you like it. not trying to build race truck just want a little more than the superchips i just sold
I got my PHP chip from Rosewood Diesel for about the same as the regular TS chip would cost.
It's still a TS CHip, but it has custom tunes from PHP on it. I love mine.
This is true, A PHP chip uses a TS chip and puts their custom tunes on it. So yes TS chips are good for our trucks, just not if you buy the generic one without getting them custom tuned for your truck by a company like PHP.
Economy tunes are the most controversial tunes between the companies, they all are trying different things.
Changing timing, fuel, hp ratings.
The PHP chip is rated at 60 or 65 hp I think. I just run my 30 hp tow setting and get the same fuel Economy and a faster turbo spool up.
Jim says he gets the same fuel mileage in the 140 extreme as he does with the Econo tune with his PHP chip
Jim I believe is the only one here who dinoed all 3 chips at a time on the same truck.
My personal belief is if you are goign to stick with a stock type truck, go with a DP or a PHP.
If you are going to do some upgrades, go with a PHP for good performance all around, or a TW if you really want to go hardcore.
There was a write up in Diesel Power magazine last month comparing DP Tuner, TW, PHP, and some other chip for our year trucks. Check it out on their website... had good explanations about the differences in tuning and also had dyno results for all of them...
Ok guys I have a few questions. I have a 96 F250 with a afe cold air intake. I want to put a 4" down pipe, 5" stacks with no cat/muffler, stage 1's, gauges and a chip. I would like a chip I could change on the fly. Something I could use to roll coal. What chip do you recomend?

A 4" downpipe will be hard to fit, you'd need a 3" body lift or major massaging of the firewall to fit bigger than a 3" downpipe. But a 3" downpipe can handle over 500hp, also Tymar makes a 3" downpipe that expands at the bottom to 4".
For a smoky chip I'd recommend TW or DP Tuner. PHP is a great chip but they are known for cleaner tunes and not much smoke.
Along with the Stage I's you'll need to upgrade to a 17* HPOP or Adrenaline HPOP to supply more oil. Especially if you want smoke...

This is a vish little circle! I have no cash and want so much! I mean 3" sorry about that! There a place in pa that will do a 3" down pipe to 4" exhaust with muffler in stainless steel. For a grand total of around 400. With no clamps all welded.

You'll need at least one clamp unless you want to pull the transmission to get the downpipe in.
You can get a two piece downpipe in pretty easy, but not a one piece. It isn't bad with a two piece, just make sure you buy a band style clamp instead of the old style exhaust clamp.
I would check out Tymar for a downpipe. Call Dale, just google Tymar and you'll get his number. He does a 3" to 4" downpipe and he'll even ceramic coat it if you want, and it'll cost less than $400
