Ive got a problem now with the ABS,fuel guage-now shows no fuel and the low fuel light is on.It all started with trying to to find out why ive lost all power at the trailer hitch plug. Its a new problem as 2 weeks ago when i used my trailer all was good.but now ive got no power for anything on the trailer.I tested the trailer with taking the plug apart and using a 12 v tester and a battery to check each wire, all is good with that end.after talking with the dealer ive removed the relays under the hood to try and find a short.I did replace # 6 fuse under the colum due to a broken fuse, ive also tried the short wire harness that connects the 7 plug to the wire harness under the bumper ,each line will show a circut when tested with a battery.Ive tested the next section at the join at the fuel filter housing, and no power there.my biggest worry is the no fuel light and guage im wanting to know if the truck will think there is no fuel and run out, the tank is at 3/4 full.or should i just let the dealer fix this?????????..............PS its a 2004 f350-6.0...........Paul
OK this am i disconnected the battery leads for a few min and now have the fuel gauge and the need fuel light is off,the guage works now. the tack and speedo rotate all the way round now when the key is on to start then go back to normal, but the ABS light is still on whith out a road test yet.any suggestions for the real problem is still appreciated.......Paul
i did a road test and as soon as i got out of the drive way the ABS lt went off i still have no power to the 7 plug trailer plug so ive resorted to the dealer fix....
ABS light came on because you lost power to that circuit. The reason it went off after rolling a few feet is that the speed sensor was "re-set" after power was restored.
