i have a 2005 f-250 with the 6.0L diesel it has about 72,000 miles on it. i noticed when i was driving, it sounded like an 18 wheeler coming down the road and it ended up that it ran out of antifreeze..... i filled it back up and drove it for a while and it got low again and i wasnt having any heat.... everybody is saying its the heater core but it is not leaking in the cab or when i turn on the antifreeze it doesnt get anything on the windshield..... it seems to me that it leaks on the outside of the firewall on the passengers side somebody please help me i dont know what to do...
If it turns out to be the EGR cooler, order the complete kit from Bulletproof Diesel, I just did. I was having the same symptoms and on occasions white smoke out exhaust.
I was having the same problem...I have current post "EGR Removal, Cleaning, and Install" going on right now. I was having code 1335 and 0404..I replaced the EGR valve and within 24 hours..CEL came on again. I have 102,340 miles with the Diesel Care Warranty...It is at dealership right now getting the EGR cooler, Oil Cooler, and EGR Valve..along with coolant flush and Oil Change...all covered by warranty-----Total cost to Ford=2700.00
Are you still under warranty...you mentioned it is a 2005....my suggestion if it is under warranty..take to dealership and get them to fix it....while it is there go visit the guys in the finance department and buy the 13 Component Diesel Care Extended Warranty. Mine just paid for itself today!
