Spray On nightshades writeup

Ok, here we go-

step 1-remove taillights (4 screws) and twist the bulbs out of the housing (also a good time to spray this part of the bed out to get rid of mud)

step 2-Use 2,000 grit sandpaper and some soap/water to clean the lens GOOD, finishing with cold water to rinse soap, etc away.

step 3-Shake can for approx. 2min, to get the liquid to spray smoothly, spray taillights from end to end lengthwise to attain the most even coverage.

step 4-allow first coat to dry, and apply 2-3 more coats, allowing approx. 10min for coating to get tacky.

step-5 let lens cure fully for 24 hrs before installation.

NOTE-This is basically a 1 shot deal, if need practice a bit BEFORE application.

The spray is in a white/purple can from advance auto parts for about 13 bucks

It's a translucent black spray paint used to tint tail lights.

It's a spray-on tint for people who either never drive at night or who like to risk having people read-end their truck due to not seeing the tail lights until it's too late.

Let's keep the conversation civil. But I will add some area's do have laws about any coating or covering that reduces the light output of a vehicle. So it is advisable to check local laws and/or not coating the whole the lamp.

personally I think it is a PERSONAL CHOICE of whether or not to spray your lenses or not, and actually I can see my lights perfectly at night.......besides like reax said there are laws to abide by and so on, but if you dont like blackouts, then no use using bandwidth for complaining....just my .2

You forgot..........

Step 6- reinstall lenses

Step 7- Drive truck at night

Step 8- Cop pulls you over

Step 9- definitely get a ticket, if cop is in a bad mood, the truck in now impounded for modification of OEM lenses that reduce light transmission.

Yup, they look cool but it's a giant flag for.....

PULL ME OVER
PLEEEEZE GIVE ME A TICKET

Goes on pretty evenly. I put on two coats of night shades and three coats of clear and lightly sanded with 1000 grit between each coat.
