radiator help

radiator help

ive got a small line running from where my radiator cap is down next to it then to i dont know where. it has a small leak in it right by the cap. can anybody tell me where it goes and if i can do without fixing it. i think its just like an air line but i dont know. thanks for your help

It's an overflow tube for if the cap releases excess pressure and some fluid is forced out... Some go into an overflow bottle, others just drain onto the ground...

^^ what he said. if youve got a small leak, your gasket on your rad cap may be bad, or its not a heavy enough spring pressured cap. the cap on my 76 is 16lbs.
