Where Is The Draincock On 2000 Expedition?
Hello Everyone!
I'am new to this forum and I'am very happy to have joined. I would like to do a radiator flush on my truck but I'am not real sure what I'am doing and I hope someone can help me here?
If I look under the vehicle on the passenger side I can see the radiator and a small white cap that look's like you can turn it with pliers to let out the fluid? Does anyone know if this correct?
Thanks,
Chase

Welcome Chase.
Yep, that's it, but to really flush the system, you'll need to get all the fluid out of the block as well. What I like to do is remove the t-stat and then disconnect the upper hose from the radiator. Now run the engine with fresh water supplied at the refill bottle. Do so until nothing but clean water comes out.

Thank you for replying! Do you happen know where I should look for the t-stat? Also it has been a while since I removed the top cover on my truck. Under that cover is there a radiator cap? I can't remember if I should refill the system by the way of the reserve or directly into the radiator? Last question do I keep the top hose off the truck while the flush is taking place?
Thank You for being kind enough to answer my questions

The t-stat is under the water neck which is on the top of the front part of engine, more on driver's side, with the radiator hose leading from it. And yes, leave the top hose disconnected while flushing.
I'm not sure about your model, but my 2000 doesn't have a radiator cap, just the overfill bottle.
Good Luck.
