Motor Support??
If I do happen to get lucky and find a decent engine in the junkyard this week, I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on the best way to support the engine in the back of my truck for the ride home. I just don't want it rolling around too badly. If anyone has a template for some sort of wooden support to hold it in place,(or something along those lines) I would sure appreciate seeing it. Thanks.

I use a wood pallet with a hole cut in the middle toward one end for the sump. Then just strap it down to the pallet. You can unload it with a forklift easily, or slide it to the back and grab it with a cherry picker.
Ive also used an old heavy wall tire to sit the sump in. It isnt as nice because you have to strap to something else to hold it up. It also isnt as easy to unload.

Chad--Me again. I have used a spare tire, no rim of course, and cradled the engine in the middle. This was one of my old 265/16 tires and it works well. Take rope or tie downs from the top of the engine/manifold to the stake pockets on the truck. This will reduce the top-heavy wobble back and forth.
