supporting transmission

Im pulling the motor out of my bronco and wondering if the front of the transmission needs to be supported when the engine is out. I notice that without the engine the transmission is only supported near the back. If it was a mustang i would normally support it with a jack stand. Only problem is that my truck is lifted and my stands cant reach the transmission. Going to rebuild the motor so it's gonna be out of the truck for a while. Does it need to be supported or the transmission and transfer case mounts enough to hold it in place without bending the linkages? If is should be supported any suggestions? Thanks

Blocks of wood under the jack stands will raise them...

go to lowes or homedepot and get a saw horse . you should be able to find them in different heights. this would free up your jack and be very stable.

I agree these advertisements are very annoying. if they must have them i suggest they put buttons on the sides like everyone else does

I don't know if this would work (Ihaven't actually looked underneath) but maybe just a peice of wood set inside the frame, from one side to the other. It would be easy, cheap, and work well.
