Engine Supports/Stands/Perches

I need to mount a 300 I6 from an '81 F150 into a '70 F100, both 2WD.

302/351W engine supports were removed from the '70 F100. Got a pair of engine supports out of a 2WD bump that allegedly had an I6 in it but they are identical to the small block supports that came out of the '70 F100. So, I guess I have two pair of SB V8 supports.

The installed left engine support/insulator in the picture is the '81 300.

Can anyone tell me if the insulators on the '81 I6 are going to mate with the SB V8 supports? I'm OK with the engine mounting 1" lower because of the SB V8 supports rather than the I6 supports. I can also mount the trans 1" lower if necessary.

I'd like to know if I have to locate I6 supports before I try to install the '81 I6 in the '70 F100 or if the parts I have will mate up OK.

Small block perches are different than the FE/I6 that you need. Here is where you will find comparison photos.....

There was a thread on this very subject 2 weeks ago. Yes, you need FE perches, and you need 67-72 240/300 engine mounts as the 81's are different and from a totally different chassis architecture compared to 67-72 and 73-79 chassis.

Thanks for the response. I've been looking at that good description and pictures of the various 2WD perches. It says the 302/351W perches can be used for the I6 but the engine will sit about an inch lower. That would work for me cause I can use a fabbed trans mount and could put the trans an inch lower too.

But, will the '81 motor mounts mate up with the bump 2WD engine supports. Looks like the won't re: richs2659 response below.

OK, thanks for info. Not what I was hoping but there it is.

I'll look for the thread from 2 weeks ago.

What perches are in the 2nd photo? I haven't had a good look in a while, but it looks like 302 perches on the left and FE/I6 on the right. I realize that photos can miss represent things.

John,

Its two pair of 302/351W perches. Two perches on the left are right side; two on the right are left side.

I thought I found some I6/FE perches but they turned out to be 302/351Ws, same as I already had.

Jim the photo threw me the ones on the right look like FE perches, but I know photo angles can throw off an ol fart like me. I don't know anyone here in the greater Raleigh area that might have a set.
