EBPV Delete
I had my turbo out of the truck, but most of you will have to do it in the truck.
Anyways.
If you dont use the EBPV, get that thing outa there. Its a HUGE hunk of metal with a butterfly on it that just stops air and gathers heat.
Waste waste waste!
If anyone is ever curious on how the valve moves, as I was, its oil driven with hydraulics. Hence the whole thing people have wrote about on here with welding the hole up for the actuator.
I just put it all back together and threw it in, but boy oh boy do I wish I coulda cut that big round hunk off there, would give you so much more room to work on this damn thing.
As for how to get it out with it in the truck, I'll have to leave that up to somebody else, but I just took the rivets out and slid the unit out and plugged the hole with a bolt and some washers. I wanted to use a carage bolt, but I couldn't find the nut for the only one I had (some special thread cause it was a special bolt)
I wont say you'll get performance gains with this.
The EGT's might be cooler (doubt you'll see it)
but, its a waste. get that sucker outa there.
For anyone else reading, I was wondering if i should just clip the leads off that actuator on there? I dont see why not, but maybe somebody has a reason to leave them on.
