Now before you post up this is a waste of you time, pull your head outa your ****, my girl gets better numbers after a pint of tequila etc..
I want to build a semi decent bench for the garage that will assist is R&D for a look see at things prior to spending real money on confirmation. I looked around at the web and came up with stuff like
Well I'am not to Hip on using the conversion charts etc...I also didnt see anyway to regulate the air flow coming from the vacuum cleaner ? different shop vacs will blow different amounts of CFM...and voltage drop to the vacuum will cause it to be slightly diffrent in output even "IF" you cant hear the change in the motor speed..
Air Density, Temp and speed all have to do with good ballpark CFM readings, Even on any 2 given Super flow machines..I have never seen the same head put out the same CFM at a given lift on 2 diffrent machine of the same kind?
I know your not looking to get exact numbers Bobby! But I guess it would tell you "IF" your going the right way anyhow?? Just a guess... How Much is the complete set-up cost with all the bells and whistles?
I thought loooong and hard about doing one myself. Just remember to line up the head to how it would sit on the cylinder. Just how it would line up with the head on the cylinder of the block! I just dont know how accurate it will be. You might want to talk with the "Mad Porter" of the 460 Forum. He might be able to tell ya. JMHO
I'd just like to set something the up rather simple that would be a half *** reasonably accurate setup to tinker with porting concepts on some junk heads(that could be had for pennies from machinist's scrap piles).
I too have been wanting to build a flow bench but the software costs a little, i have seen flowquik and other equipment used. Scott Johnston "madporter" has about as reasonable flowbench given the money. I seem to think $1000 or better is needed myself.
