tail light question

tail light question
I'm trying to figure out what the piece that i plug my taillight into is called. its a little white piece in the middle of the taillight and it works for the running lights and the brake lights, mine has a short in it and i cant find a part name anywhere. if i smack the piece it works for a little while but it shorts out my running lights. do you guys know what this part is called and maybe a link to find it?

If I understand you correctly, you're talking about the taillight bulb socket. You can get them at just about any auto parts store (just ask for a taillight bulb socket for your year of truck), in addition to LMC as fepowerguy8 suggested. Shouldn't be more than $10 if you go to an auto parts store like O'Reillys.
